Yellowstone Series: Entering the Landscape

The series of drawings based on site notations at Yellowstone was conceived as a translation of moving phenomena. I was challenged by this unique landscape that was reinventing itself by continuous change. Each drawing exists as a fragment of the experience.

The drawings seek to redefine the nature of drawing itself. They exist on multiple layers of plexiglas bolted together, forming a sandwich of elements, each contributing detail and density to the whole. Within this constructed space, the images approach a kind of holographic dimensionality that speaks to the thermal sites that are the core of this work. They represent my continued investigation of powerful landscape that reveals its origins.
